"BOY CRAZY." is a song performed by Kesha. It serves as the eighth track from her sixth studio album, Period. The song was released as the fourth single from the album on May 16, 2025. A remix version featuring English singer, JADE, is included on the deluxe version of the album.
Background
The song title was teased as one of the character names for the "JOYRIDE." music video. During House of Kesha, several dancers wore crop tops teasing the title of songs on Period, including this one.[1] The song was teased for the first time in October 2024, where it was played at a charity event Kesha and Pebe Sebert were hosting.[2]
Kesha played the song again at a show at the Boiler Room in Miami, Florida, on April 3, 2025.[3] On May 14, two days before the official release, Kesha posted the song to her Vault chat group.[4] On premiere day, she held an event at The Abbey, a gay bar in Hollywood, greeted by a crowd of fans and models from Mistr, an LGBTIQ+ health brand.[5]
The single peaked at number 38 on the New Zealand Hot Singles chart.[6]
To promote the single, as well as the launch of Kesha's new app, Smash, stems of the songs were sent to users who signed up in order to create a remix. The remix was hand chosen by Kesha and released officially through Kesha Records.[7] On July 18, 2025, five remixes were released.
The Only Smash Remix was released on May 30, 2025. She performed the single for the first time during her setlist for Mighty Hoopla on June 1.
The tour merch for the song was made available as a clothing option for a user's Bitmoji on Snapchat.
A remix version featuring former Little Mix member, Jade Thirlwall, is included as a bonus track off the album. The collaboration was teased when Jade attended Kesha's set during Mighty Hoopla. Both singers were headliners for the show (albeit on different days) and Jade had posted a video of her dancing to the live performance of "BOY CRAZY".[8] The two exchanged instagram comments, teasing a possible collaboration.[9] Jade further teased the remix in an interview when asked about possible collaborations and she "blinked" when asked about Kesha.[10]
Composition
"Boy Crazy" is a "high energy" hyperpop and Europop anthem that sees Kesha singing from the perspective of a horny and wild-hearted femme fatale.
Kesha for her 2025 Vogue interview:
"I forget what age I am, but I’m still boy crazy. What’s the point of life if you’re not? I genuinely think it gives me the lust for life that I need. If I don’t have a crush, I feel like I’m dying. We have to be a little boy crazy. It’s good for our mental health."[11]
Critical reception
Tomás Mier from Rolling Stones Australia opined:
"The song opens with Kesha’s voice filtered through an almost robotic effect, before she shifts into her signature sweet vocals layered over a hyperpop beat for the rest of the track. “I’ve been a good girl/Now I’m a connoisseur/Many men are on the menu,” she sings on the new single. “Eat ’em up like amuse-bouche/Boys better beware/I’m on a man tear.” The silly, explicit lyrics on the high-energy party anthem see Kesha be unapologetically sexy and committed to finding a man because “boys are my cocaine”."[12]
Chris Malone Méndez from Forbes opined:
"On the upbeat pop track, Kesha sings about wanting to collect romantic partners from around the world and have fun while she does it. [...] The singles released so far have run the gamut sonically and represent an amalgamation of her past work from her 2010 debut album Animal to the more emotional Rainbow and High Road. Channeling her emotions – whatever they may be – into her music is a key part of the pop star’s creative process."[13]

The video sees the singer surrounded by the diverse cast of men wearing amounts of clothing that vary, as they sit down for a feast in a rodeo themed restaurant, referencing The Last Supper. The restaurant unravels into chaos as the group eat and drink and perform sexual acts on the table. The video is intercut with shots of a nearly nude Kesha while she rides on the back of a topless man and holds out pink panties like a piñata. At the end of the video, a grown man breastfeeds from an angelic looking Kesha.
The music video was teased on June 16, 2025. It was released the following day and was directed by Kesha, Brett Loudermilk, and Zain Curtis.

- The roses on Kesha's headpiece in the video are from the company, The Forever Rose. The company dips real roses into real 24K gold and sell them as gifts. In 2024, a group of Animals crowdfunded a bunch of roses to send to Kesha to celebrate her freedom, which she later posted a video of her opening them and then a photo of the bouquet.[14][15]
