Musically and lyrically, "Boots" is quite different to the rest of the Rainbow album. It has more dark electro-pop infused production and resembles her previous two studio albums.

- The melody of the bridge is similar to the one heard at the beginning of "Frenzy".
- The song was performed live for the first time on the Kesha Cruise and again at her show in North Carolina on March 29th, 2019[1].
