"DELUSIONAL." is the second single from Kesha's sixth studio album, Period. The song is produced by Kesha and Zhone.
Background[]
On September 20, 2024, Kesha posted a snippet of the song on her socials.[1] On November 20, Kesha announced the song through the "JOYRIDE." music video to be released on November 29.
On March 22, 2025, the title was updated to add a period at the end, along with "JOYRIDE.". The single version was also changed to say "Edit" at the end, while the "Main Version" tag was removed from the longer version.
Cover art[]
The cover art for "DELUSIONAL." features a street crosswalk with a pile of Birkin bags with "DELUSIONAL" painted on them on. When Kesha first unveiled the song's cover artwork on November 20, fans immediately speculated that the image was AI-generated due to "delusional" being misspelled multiple times.[2] According to AI image detector Sight Engine, there is a 99% chance the cover art for "Delusional" was created with generative artificial intelligence. This sparked mixed reactions from fans on social media. Six months later, Kesha finally addressed the backslash with new cover art:[3]
