The MTV Video Music Awards, commonly abbreviated to VMA's, is an annual awards show honoring the best in music video medium.presented by MTV.

2010

The 27th VMA's were held on September 12th, 2010 at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Kesha introduced Usher's performance, alongside rapper, Trey Songz. This is where Kesha's iconic garbagebag dress was worn, which is now on display at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Kesha was nominated for four awards including: Best New Artist, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video, both for "Tik Tok", and Best Collaboration, for "My First Kiss" with 3OH!3.

The 29th VMA's were held on September 6th, 2012 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Kesha presented the Best New Artist Award with Wiz Khalifa. Also in an interview, she announced the lead single from her second studio album, "Die Young". Kesha also filmed a commercial for the show.

The 31st VMA's were held on August 24th, 2014 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Kesha only appeared at the Red Carpet due to the series finale of Rising Star premiering on the same night. Kesha was nominated for one award: Best Collaboration for "Timber" with Pitbull.

The 34th VMA's were held on August 27th, 2017 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Kesha introduced the performance for Logic, Alessia Cara, and Khalid's "1-800-273-8255". She gave a speech about how there is help for anyone who is struggling with suicidal thoughts and depression. The performance and her speech combined rose the calls to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline by 50%.[1]
