"Chasing Rainbows" is a song by American musician Big Freedia, featuring Kesha. It was released February 20, 2020, as a single from Big Freedia's extended play, Louder.[1]
Background[]
At the Essence Festival in New Orleans on July 7, 2019, Big Freedia gave her fans a first listen of the song.[2] A low quality audio file of the full song leaked on June 9, 2019. It was believed to be originally intended to be released in August 2019.
On December 2, 2019, Big Freedia tweeted that she and Kesha were shooting the music video for the song and confirmed that it would be released soon.[3]
The song's music video had been uploaded on Lagan's channel accidentally, with some of it being seen here. It was directed by Lagan, Jonah Lincoln Best and produced by Magic Seed Co.
The release date was announced February 11, 2020, along with the official single artwork, and could be saved prior to the song's official release on all streaming platforms.
